j' adore!

The following photos are from French Elle Decor. I just fell in love with this pied-e-terre and hope you enjoy it!

The white milk glass and glass achieves a uniform look in an otherwise chaotic exposed shelving unit.

The all white kitchen hides storage cleverly. Check out that island! I would love to have that much storage in a kitchen island. The skirted counters hide more storage and can be easily removed for washing. Oh, and let's not overlook those fabulous chandeliers!

This apartment does venture a little too much on the Shabby Chic side for my taste, especially in the photograph above. I do love the stack of books sloppily placed on the coffee table though. Also, notice the chair on the back wall with the three mismatched pillows thrown on for comfort.

The dining room is so eclectic and fun. Try to get a good look at the chandelier, it's so whimsical - and can easily be done!

This bedroom reminds me a little of apartments seen in New Orleans. The Louis XVI chair draped in jewels and sequins doubling as a night stand. I can just see this space in a French Quarter apartment. I love how the owner just has fun with the space. "Kiss Me" right above the bed, clever! (also, notice the tiny little bird perched above a frame!)

The Fall

WOW! The Fall is definitely on my must see summer movie list. It's such a beautiful and visually stunning film.

"Award-winning music video, commercial and film director Tarsem Singh creates a movie and seamless blending of mundane life in a 1915 Los Angeles hospital with a visually sumptuous fantasy world of exotic bandits, evil tyrants, dream like palaces and breathtaking landscapes."

What I find most amazing is that this film was shot over the course of four years on locations in 18 countries, and paid for out of the pocket of its co-writer and director, Tarsem Singh. All the locations are real and not doctored with computers and special effects.

The rich use of color and the elaborate costumes are such a treat!

Ceramic Stools...

So we have all seen the ceramic stools EVERYWHERE for the past couple of years. Are they a splash in the pan of trend or are they here to stay? Once something hits Target and it's so mainstream, does that turn you off? Or do you care? To me, it depends on what it is. The Foo Dog is also everywhere now but I am still in love with mine!
FYI, the Silver stool retails for $99 at ZGallerie while the lime green stool retails for $495 at Mecox Gardens... I mean REALLY?!
